Welcome to the Great Southern Mini Art &
LEGO
® Hunt!

Here's how it works...

If you love Art, LEGO bricks, treasure hunts, and miniature things, you've come to the right place.

Have you ever been Geocaching? It's so fun - until you and your kids can't find the treasure even after 20 minutes and if you do find it, there is just a tiny container with a piece of old scrappy paper in it. Disappointment all around. The GSMALTH (can we get a better-shortened name for this please?!) aims to change all that.

So far, it's been limited to Waimate, with all the treasures placed within 20 km of town. The hope is that it will grow and grow until the whole of the South Island (and maybe even the North Island eventually) is dotted with hidden, beautiful, unique treasures made by our children.

To join the fun costs $15 per family per year (if your family wants to make more, extra treasure-making kits are available at the making session for $10 each). Kits include:

1 x miniature treasure dome and art materials to fill and decorate

1 x Minifigure (if you want to add extra LEGO bricks, bring them along with you)

1 x logbook tube and paper to decorate and fill

2 x Art Trading Cards (trade with another card each time you find another treasure!)

1 x Access to the Treasure Map for a whole year

The only thing you need to do is bring any extra tiny LEGO® bits to go in your dome with your art, if you want to.

Next up is you Timaru! So, what next?

1. **STOP PRESS** Unfortunately, the making session on the weekend has had to be postponed - so you can buy a kit for posting to you or collecting, or wait until it is rescheduled. Drop me an email with any questions!

3. Read the FAQs here to learn more, check out what the treasure map will look like here, and finally see how to submit your treasure location here

4.  Hide your treasure and log its location using the form during the school holidays then hunt for everyone elses!
